Enrolment in the 1st and preparatory grades of primary school in January

From the 2026/2027 school year, there will be a change in the dates of enrolment in primary schools – including preparatory classes. Based on the amendment to the Education Act (Act No. 561/2004 Coll.), enrolment is postponed from April to January 2026, as part of a uniform admission procedure across schools. The aim of the change is to align the dates with the reality of kindergartens and with the need for parents to plan transfers on time.

What does this mean for you?

If you are considering enrolling your child in the first or preparatory class of our school, it is important to pay attention to the new timetable. The whole process starts in January, so we cordially invite you to get to know us before you enroll.

Open Day – come and get to know us

We invite you to the Open Day, which will take place on January 8, 2025 at the Maple Bear Brno Primary School (Lazaretní 9, Nová Zbrojovka).

The Open Day is an ideal opportunity to get to know us personally, ask you anything you want to know, and soak up the atmosphere of a school where children learn with joy, respect and in a safe environment.

How does the enrollment in the 1st and preparatory classes at the Maple Bear Brno Primary School work?

1. Visit us
We recommend a personal visit to the school before enrollment. Come to the Open Day 8. January 2025 or make an individual appointment.

2. Apply online
Fill out the electronic application form via our website. The application must be sent by 15 January 2026 at the latest .

3. Enrolment of the child
Enrollment will take place 24. and January 25, 2026 on the school premises. Enrolment includes an assessment of school maturity, readiness for teaching and compliance with our educational programme.

4. Final Acceptance
We will publish the results of enrolment within 3 days after the end of the official enrolment deadline. In case of acceptance, the contract is signed and the registration fee is paid.
