MAPLE BEAR CZECHIA | BRNO | The best of Canadian education for a global future.

Responsibility and helping others

We want children to see that helping really makes sense.

At Maple Bear Brno, we don’t see education just as what happens in the classroom. Empathy, responsibility and the ability to perceive the needs of those around us are also an important part of us.

That’s why we get involved in charity and community projects throughout the year, organize fundraisers, support selected organizations, and talk to children about why helping others makes sense. We don’t just want a one-time contribution. We want children to understand the context and gradually develop a natural relationship to solidarity and responsibility.

Terry Fox Charity Run in Brno

Part of Maple Bear is not only education in the classroom, but also a shared responsibility towards the outside world. One example is the tradition of Terry Fox charity runs, which Maple Bear has been developing since 2018 to support cancer research. Gradually, it has become an annual community event in a number of countries.
At Maple Bear Brno, we organized our own Terry Fox charity run, which connected our families, colleagues, friends and the wider public. The goal was not just to run together, but to support a good cause and concrete help to the patients of the Masaryk Cancer Institute. The children could see that solidarity, perseverance and willingness to help are not just words, but something that we can put into practice together.

Shoe Box

We are also regularly involved in the Shoe Box collection, which helps children and families in difficult life situations. Together with children, we talk about why it makes sense to think about others, what solidarity means and that helping does not have to be complicated. Even a small gift, chosen with a particular child in mind, can make you very happy.
