MAPLE BEAR CZECHIA | BRNO | The best of Canadian education for a global future.

Maple Bear in the world

We are part of an international network of schools that connects the Canadian approach to education with the local environment of individual countries.

Today, Maple Bear consists of more than 500 schools in more than 35 countries and is attended by over 70,000 children and pupils. The individual schools are united by a common educational philosophy, bilingual teaching and methodology based on the Canadian approach, but at the same time each school respects the local education system, language and culture.

For our families in Brno, this means that we are not an isolated school that creates everything on its own. We draw on the experience of a wider network, share educational materials and know-how, and are part of a system that has been developing across countries for a long time.

Connecting children across the world

One of the benefits of the global network is the projects where children and pupils can meet peers from other Maple Bear schools and work together on topics that go beyond their own classroom. The Maple Bear Global Connections programme connects pupils from different countries on joint projects.

Children work together, share experiences, get to know different environments and use English in a situation where it really makes sense: they need to communicate, create something together or present their point of view. Maple Bear describes this program as a way to connect students from different countries while working on real problems and common tasks.
For us, this is also important because bilingual education does not end with the ability to “know English”. We want children and pupils to be able to use the language to establish relationships, collaborate and learn about the world beyond the boundaries of their own school.
