At Maple Bear Brno, children learn in both Czech and English every day – naturally and confidently. We combine the Czech national curriculum with proven Canadian teaching methods to offer truly bilingual education in every subject. Our classrooms are creative, and supportive, allowing each child to grow at their own pace, explore the world with curiosity, and build strong foundations for life both here and abroad.
During the elementary years, children steadily achieve important developmental milestones. Each grade brings fresh challenges that call for ongoing growth in cognitive, physical, and social-emotional abilities.
At Maple Bear Brno, our program is dedicated to supporting students’ well-being and sense of social responsibility by:
Education from the first grade is equally split between Czech and English. Children spend half their time with a Czech teacher and the other half with an English- speaking teacher.
Both teachers are often present together, ensuring a seamless transition between languages and supporting natural language development across all subjects. With a maximum of 20 children per class, our teachers can focus on the individual needs of each student.
At Maple Bear Brno, we believe that academic excellence comes from understanding not memorization. Our curriculum combines the Czech national education standards with proven Canadian teaching methods, designed to spark curiosity and deepen comprehension.
Our approach focuses on active learning encouraging children to experiment, explore, ask questions, and apply knowledge in meaningful ways.
Students are guided to make real connections, think critically, and develop skills they’ll carry forward for life. Through interactive lessons, projects, and guided discovery, we create a school experience that is both academically rigorous and deeply engaging.
After the academic day, students can take part in after-school club until 5:30 PM, including extracurricular activities such as music, art, sports, or even our school circus.
Children do not need to complete the preparatory year at Maple Bear to enroll in the first grade. While the preparatory class offers a valuable advantage in adapting to the school environment and bilingual education, it is not a requirement. We welcome children from various educational backgrounds and help them integrate quickly into our teaching system.
Children learn in Czech and English through thematic blocks. Subjects such as Math, History, Geography (Science and World), Art, Music, and Physical Education are taught in both languages alternately.
Czech and English language classes are taught separately to allow students to focus fully on each language. This system keeps the curriculum clear and helps children navigate both languages with ease. Afterwards, students can enjoy the extracurricular activities, clubs, or after-school care until 5:30 PM.
