Come run with us, walk the route or simply enjoy a lovely afternoon for a good cause. Terry Fox was a young Canadian who, after his own experience with cancer, decided to run across Canada to help people going through the same illness. His courage and belief that one person can change the world around them continue to inspire people today. This year, we are carrying his legacy forward in Brno and running for the patients of the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute and their loved ones.
The run is non-competitive and open to everyone. Athletes, non-athletes, children, families, and anyone who would simply like to walk the route at their own pace. Entry is free.

The Terry Fox Run in Brno is a charity event for children, adults, families, athletes, and non-athletes alike. It is not about racing, results, or rankings. It is about the joy of movement, a shared experience, and supporting a good cause.
We will meet on Sunday, 20 September 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Nová Zbrojovka, Lazaretní 9, Brno.
The 5 km run will start at 1:30 PM, and the 100 m children’s run will start at 2:30 PM.

Entry to the event and registration are free. We will be very grateful for any voluntary contribution to the collection via Donio.
The event will be hosted by the Maple Bear Brno elementary school team. We believe that children learn the value of helping others best through real experiences, and the Terry Fox Run is a beautiful opportunity to bring together school, families, community, and charity.
A 5 km adult run and a 100 m children’s run will be prepared. The adult route consists of two laps, with one lap measuring approximately 2.5 km. The route will also include a small highlight, a short passage through Industra Coffee. The route is suitable for everyone. You can run it for a personal best, jog it at an easy pace, or simply walk it. What matters is not how fast you go, but that you take part and help support a good cause together with us.
The 100 m children’s run is prepared for young runners who want to enjoy the atmosphere of the start, finish and cheering together. It will take place in a friendly spirit, with no timekeeping and no ranking.
The routes will be clearly marked, and organisers will be present at important points to show participants the right direction. You do not need to worry about not knowing where to go or where to continue. Just come, enjoy the friendly atmosphere and take part at your own pace.
By registering online, you will help us better prepare the event facilities and small participation gifts for the runners. Registration will also be possible directly on site on the day of the event.

Entry to the event and registration are free of charge. But the main purpose of the run is to help, where even small support can bring great relief. This year, we will run in support of patients of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute in Brno, especially children undergoing radiation therapy, and activities that help them and other patients get through difficult moments of treatment a little more calmly.
The proceeds from the collection will help with the purchase of toys and small aids for children who are waiting for radiation therapy or are undergoing it. These small things can help children take their mind off the hospital environment, bring them a sense of safety and offer a small moment of joy at a time that may not be easy for them.
The support also includes canistherapy, meaning visits from therapy dogs. Contact with a dog can bring patients calm, distraction, closeness, and a simple human moment that helps them briefly forget about treatment, waiting, and worries.
Every contribution matters. Thank you for helping with us.
Registration is free and will help us better prepare the event facilities and small participation gifts for the runners. Choose your route, add your team name if you have one, and come enjoy a charity afternoon with us at Nová Zbrojovka.
Terry Fox was a young Canadian who was diagnosed with cancer and lost part of his leg because of the illness. Still, he decided to do something extraordinary. In 1980, he set out on his Marathon of Hope, a run across Canada to raise money for cancer research and to help people going through treatment similar to his own.
He did not run for fame or victory. He ran to show that even one person can inspire millions of others. His legacy lives on around the world through the Terry Fox Run, charity runs that bring together children, adults, schools, families and whole communities.
The Terry Fox Run in Brno carries this idea forward. It does not matter who finishes first. What matters is that we come together, get moving and support people who are undergoing cancer treatment, as well as their loved ones.
